Project Title: Robotics

Project Type: Individual and team mechanical, electrical, software, embedded

Project Status: Ongoing

Project Description: I have been building robots in teams and individually since the eighth grade, participating in every aspect of their creation from CAD to machining to programming. While I am a mechanical engineer by training, I am deeply fascinated by the electrical engineering and programming involved in creating autonomous robots and have significant experience in designing and creating these aspects of robotic systems.

My experience ranges from middle school FIRST Lego League and high school FIRST competitions to self-driving vehicles with onboard vision processing to fire detection and response robots with all sort of drive configurations.

Outside of competitive environments, I explored the field by creating an autonomous hovercraft and robots to automate simple tasks around the house. In particular, I enjoy blending my love of robotics with my love of cars and creating self-driving wheeled vehicles. This is what inspired me to create the first version of my inertial navigation unit, as GPS was not fast enough to keep up with my 8 horsepower go-kart.
